The Talk

I hate having The Talk, yet I've just asked to have it. I guess there are many 'The Talks'... My The Talk refers to the: maybe we should have a break I'm not happy maybe we aren't meant to be together Talk.

In the short run it seems easier not to have The Talk, because having it is so hard. But turning a blind-eye is just betraying yourself... I definitely need time to work out what I need and want, and he deserves to know where my head and heart are at. After 2.5 years things should seem clearer (I would've thought).

So, tomorrow evening maybe...

Google Valentine's Day 2012

Google had the cutest video as their logo for Valentines Day this year. I took a few screenshots, but the basic story was a little boy trying to order gifts off the internet to impress the skipping little girl. In the end, he skipped next to her and then they skipped together. Awwww :)

Google NZ Logo

I wanted to post this ages ago! It appeared as the google.co.nz logo on 9th Feb. Too cute :)

Growing List of Awesomeness

(Ed: Updated here March 2013)

From much beauty trial and error is my growing list of FAVs:

*Best Nail Polish* Sparitual Nail Lacquers (website)
I first tried this nail polish at East Day Spa (Sky City Auckland) when having a pedicure. Since then I have bought 3 or so bottles- the bottle I bought 2 years ago is only just needing to be thinned (it was pink, which I don't wear much), the colour goes on and stays on your nails well. They have a great colour selection too!
Dedicated to the spa tradition, SpaRitual is committed to creating eco-friendly products and packaging perfectly crafted for the enlightened consumer.
SpaRitual use Vegan ingredients from around the world, including many specially sourced and selected plant essences that are wild crafted or organic.
The formulations are naturally coloured and free of synthetic dyes. SpaRitual is constantly monitoring sustainability issues and strives to be on the cutting edge of environmental awareness. (Runner up: OPI)

*Best Nail Treatment* Revitanail (website)
A superior nailcare treatment to promote stronger, longer and healthier looking nails. It also protects nails against dehydration caused by the use of harsh detergents and soapy water.

*Best Eyeshadow Primer* Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (website)
I never realised how awesome eyeshadow primer was until I tried Urban Decay's. Your shadow will last all day and into the night! I have two colours: Original (natural) and Sin (shimmer, great for night). A MUST for all make-up bags.
This is it – THE most legendary primer in the beauty industry. Eyeshadow Primer Potion is coveted by makeup artists and makeup junkies alike because it guarantees more vibrant eyeshadow that lasts for 24+ hours and NEVER CREASES! Once you experience its powers (plus how smoothly it glides on – an added bonus) you’ll never want to live without it. Original formula dries down invisibly, while Eden, Sin and Greed are shades that can also be worn as shadows or highlighters!

*Best Lip Gloss* Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker (website)
I love ALL the colours, but I've used the link to 'Half Naked': Fasten your seatbelts! It's Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker with SUPERFILL™ Lip Plumping Spheres and LIPSWELL™ Volume Boost Technology. As ALL OUT Pout-Plumping as our 'Original Formula', in a seductive Half Naked colour with a fabulous buttered popcorn flavour.
(In close contention after purchasing on Friday: MAC Lipglass in Nymphette)

*Best Lip Treatment* Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (website)
My mum has used this since she was a teenager, and I started to buy it when I was a teenager - it is brilliant as a lip treatment, and on any dry skin!
The skincare classic that soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve chapped, cracked, dry skin. Soothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations.

*Best Haircare Treatment* Morrocanoil (website)
Moroccanoil Treatment’s versatile, nourishing and residue-free formula can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. It blends perfectly with other products and even speeds up drying time. This treatment for hair completely transforms and repairs as its formula transports lost proteins for strength; fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine; and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage.

*Best Hair Protectant* De Lorenzo Extinguish (website)
This product is awesome when using a hair straightener. I've been buying and rebuying for over 3 years now.
Protect and minimise damage and stress to the hair when using heat.

A post-credits scene (also called a stinger, tag, credit cookie, Easter egg or movie coda) is a short clip that appears after some or all of the closing credits of a film have run. It is usually either included for humour (where it may be called a "stinger gag") or to set up a possible sequel, as well as to inspire the audience to stay through the credits during the theatrical release.

The Media Stinger website has a list of all movies with stingers. I've added the link to my links page, or click here for a detailed (and frequently updated) list. Now you'll never leave a movie too soon, or look like a dick for staying until the end if nothing else happens!

Enjoy, and darn it: 'Buried' (2010) has a stinger and I didn't stay until the end.

My Preeeecioous!

Ok, so I want the good guys (see here), but I also want the bad guys (Gollum and Orcs and Ringwraths, oh my!). How cool is this Lord of the Rings Lego collection?!
