This week's guilty pleasure

Yes, I will be putting this together over the weekend (bought from Mighty Ape):

Why today turned out okay

I stayed in bed longer than usual and cuddled with the cat, got to work later but not late, found a peanut slab on my desk (turned out to be from my boss), gave a work colleague a little birthday gift (cards I made, some choc, and a cute hair-treatment packet), got given a unicorn stamp (oh the cards I will create with this hehe), paid for my Band of Horses ticket (yay for seeing BOH again), it’s pay day... and it’s Friday!

Famous Capsules

I love quizzes like this! Below is a mixture of TV, Movie, Cartoon, Comic and Video game characters, along with musicans. There is some strange numbering, but see how many you can get! I've got most of them, so leave a comment to compare/discuss :)

My Eulogy?

This was submitted and read at our staff meeting a few weeks ago. I still have NO idea who wrote it. It's one of the nicest submissions I've heard, so nice that I call it my eulogy hehe

“I would like to nominate Michelle for Player of the Month. Michelle is a delightful person to work with.  When I ask her to assist me with a complex task, she has a rare and enviable ability to find a simple solution and does this with no reservations. She is an expert in her field, and is always tirelessly striving to make innovative improvements to our client databases.”

Secret admirer, or just a good friend trying to make me smile?

Time Management Games: Build-a-lot Series

Yes, I looove time management games. Time Management games are games in which you perform a series of tasks or processes as quickly as possible e.g. manage/cook/serve at a restaurant, stock/run a supermarket, babysit, manage a hotel, build/decorate houses. When I finish a TMG I love, I Google trying to find more like it. Also, when I say 'finish', I mean get the gold/expert score on every single level!

Today's game is...

... the Build-a-lot Series

I am a fan of this series. Each one has a different spin (though lots of familiar features).

Build-a-lot is a 2007 casual video game for Microsoft Windows. The object of the game is to construct, upgrade and sell houses for profits.
  • Build-a-lot
  • Build-a-lot 2: Town of the Year (haven't played this one yet)
  • Build-a-lot 3: Passport to Europe (move around Europe building different styles)
  • Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source (in addition to building homes, you must power them with the appropriate stations).
  • Build-a-Lot: Fairy Tales (very cute edition, with the homes all relating to fairy tale characters. Magical). Pictured below.
  • Build-a-Lot: On Vacation
  • Build-a-Lot: The Elizabethan Era (ye olde England).

Download a free one hour trial of Build-a-Lot: Fairy Tales here

Here is a list of all the Time Management Games I have played/reviewed, or, click the blogger tag below to load all the posts on Time Management Games!
