Picking and Sticking

"I realize it has become too easy to find a diet to fit in with whatever you happen to feel like eating and that diets are not there to be picked and mixed but picked and stuck to, which is exactly what I shall begin to do once I've eaten this chocolate croissant." ― Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary.

I am sure I have thought the above quote myself; just sub in 'chocolate croissant' with 'chocolate ANYTHING'!

I have moved past eating the chocolate croissant (for now... and it is only day two!!), and am sticking to my plan.

A darling friend said something that reminded me the real reason I am on this path: to be happy in myself. I want to be happy, and healthy. I don't want to be miserable and thin.

The day I am happy in my skin is a pretty epic day indeed. And thinking about that is a huge motivation. It's a fine line to walk - not to beat myself up... And on darker days (when depression lies), I need a better fall-back than food (aka candy, chocolate, chips, and other misc. junk food).

Also, my fall-back can't be more online shopping... (the handbag that arrived yesterday is fabulous, however...)
