Hidden Object Games: Sable Maze Games

A Hidden Object Game at a basic level involves finding hidden objects in a picture. The HO games I play do involve this task, but also navigating scenes searching for clues/objects, solving puzzles and mysteries etc. (I'm into more of the sub-genre called HOPA, or Hidden Object Puzzle Adventures)

Today's games are...

... Sable Maze: Norwich Caves, and Sable Maze: Sullivan River

Developer: Double Games

Sable Maze: Norwich Caves
Congratulations, Professor Edwards! You've joined the faculty of the oldest and most-respected university in the world. You've barely been teaching for a semester when tragedy strikes during the fall break. Four of your students have gone missing while exploring the dangerous caverns under the campus! Is the legend about the Labyrinth under the campus actually true? What's causing the abnormal physics in the water down there? You don't have much time, because the rain keeps pouring down, flooding the caverns. Dig deep and keep your head above water in Sable Maze: Norwich Caves, an intriguing Hidden-Object Puzzle Adventure game.

Hard to write a review of this game as I played it over a long period of time; very disjointed game play. I normally go for darker supernatural themes in my HOPAs - this story was still supernatural, but more rooted in mythology. I did enjoy the challenges. Good graphics and sound.

Sable Maze: Sullivan River
Every night you have the same nightmare. You see children wandering through a maze, crying for help. These sleepless nights are ruining your waking life. To stop them, you must return to Sullivan River Summer Camp to uncover what happened during that long-forgotten summer. Beware though, this camp isn't all that it seems. With every step, you can feel eyes watching you. Reveal the secret of the ancient labyrinth in this eerie Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game.

I played this game to the end over one sitting (few hours). I have to admit that I lost my patience with some of the smaller challenges, hitting the 'skip' more than I normally do (the instructions didn't seem clear to me, and after some clicking I gave up). It might've been more fun (and frustrating I guess!) if the maze had been a little trickier to crack. Still, I am a fan of Daily Magic's HOPAs, and this once again had great graphics and sound.
